Because it’s so difficult to decide if a boudoir image looks better in colour or B&W you receive all your images in both colour and B&W.
Which image do you prefer here? I can’t decide – both are beautiful.
I’m not comfortable with sharing my images online. Can I have a boudoir session and keep my images private?
Absolutely!!! Very few boudoir sessions are shared as most like to keep the images private. Sessions are 100% private and never shared without permission. If you’re ok with me sharing, please let me know as I could always use more images to share!
I’m worried about stretch marks. Do you offer retouching?
Basic retouching is included. I smooth out the skin in all our images. Although sometimes not everything can be completely removed, it will be reduced.
Where does the session take place?
I have set up a portrait studio in my house. Here I have many backdrops to offer as well as two bedroom sets
Do I bring my own lingerie or do you supply me with that?
You bring your own lingerie. If you’re not sure what you would like to bring we discuss that in detail depending on your body and what you’re comfortable with. Corsets look fabulous on everyone. Baby dolls do not look fabulous on everyone. Be sure to ask me any questions you have when choosing your lingerie.
Can I bring a friend to my boudoir session?
Although some photographers advise against this because they find the friend can be distracting, I think this is totally up to you. What will make you feel more comfortable? Many feel nervous before a boudoir session and prefer to bring a friend for comfort. I’d guess that 25% of my clients do bring a friend.
Is makeup and hair included? Or can I do my own to save money?
We offer several packages both with and without makeup. Depending on what city you live in, I have fabulous stylists I work with. Having makeup and hair done gives you time to relax and feel pampered. Having styling done by a professional means they know how to get you camera ready, while highlighting your beauty. We take photos before your styling appointment if you have ideas of your own.
How long does a boudoir session take?
Styling for hair and makeup take about an hour to an hour and a half. The boudoir photographic session is also an hour to an hour and a half.
I have no idea how to pose for boudoir photography. Do you guide me in posing?
Posing is my specialty! I’ve taken so many course on posing and have studied boudoir photography in both Las Vaga and California. Posing is fun and challenging. It’s not going to be a day where you comfortably roll around in the bed. There’s a little hip popping, toe pointing, arching, elongating the neck, etc. It’s a bit like yoga…holding uncomfortable poses! But it works!
Upon reciveing your boudoir images you will be given a private link to a gallery that lays your images out a bit like a Pinterest gallery. What’s fabulous about this option is that you can see all your images side by side which is helpful in selecting your favourite images if we’re making you a boudoir book.
You can see in the below screen shoot that a lot of these images look similar. I take a few frames of the same pose with little differences. In the gallery you can mark your favourites for easy selecting
Starting November first our boudoir studio in Picton will be relocating due to the owner of the house having other fabulous plans for his property
So, that gives us just two more months to use this gorgeous space. If you’re looking to get in on this location, just send me a message and we’ll book you in before we need to relocate.
As a female, I get it! We are so hard on ourselves! And this is one of the reasons we don’t consider boudoir photography as an option for ourselves. But I’ll tell you, there are so many reasons why you should not wait to book your boudoir session.
First, waiting to book your boudoir session…it will just never happen, right?! We live busy lives! I know I do! I’m running two businesses, working in different cities, raising a teen, cleaning my house, planning a wedding, buying a house…I didn’t/don’t have time for my own bachelorette party! I’m going to generalize here and say that we as women don’t make enough time for ourselves.
You don’t need to have experience as a super model to get fabulous photos from your boudoir session. Your boudoir photographer will coach you on posing, and expressions. Please let your photographer coach you! They will know how to angle your body for the most flattering poses. These shoots are for every day women, not just model type looking women. With a little professional hair, makeup and skilled photographer — you’re in good hands! You might even be surprised at what a team of artist can create.
A self esteem boost is common after a boudoir session. Boudoir photography is all about you, you looking your best! You will no doubt feel beautiful.
Comfort is key so take care when selecting your wardrobe. Example: I’m not a fan of my stomach so in my session I only had lingerie that covered my stomach. I also used a wedding veil but again, I made sure my stomach was covered. Talk to your photographer first about your concerns if you have any and they will have ideas on how to help you.
No matter what age you are, boudoir photography is for you! It’s a celebration of you and we can celebrate you at any age. Boudoir photos are classy, and you’ll love your final result.
Boudoir photos make a great gift or a beautiful piece of art. I have clients that made several canvas from their boudoir couple session for their bedroom! I love that idea!
